We serve literary copyright holders

Sanasto manages the compensations paid for Finnish public library lending and for the use of literary works on Finnish radio and television. In addition, we manage the compensations paid for textbooks sold on the basis of regulations on compulsory licensing and the compensations paid by the Celia book lending system.

• Sanasto manages compensation dues for the use of literary works and pays them to copyright holders
• Sanasto monitors the development of copyright legislation in Finland and internationally and works for the development of the rights of writers and translators
• Sanasto wishes to increase general knowledge on, and respect for, literary copyright
• Sanasto assists its member organisations and individual copyright holders in contractual matters that concern the use of literary works under copyright
• Where necessary, Sanasto takes legal measures against a party that has violated the rights of a copyright holder
